What are the Risks?

For those companies that do not employ workers who perform their jobs in confined spaces, it is easy to forget how dangerous working in these types of spaces can be. Each year, approximately 92 workers die in confined space-related workplace incidents, according to the US Department of Labor. This is equivalent to nearly two workers every week.

The troubling reality is that any hazard that could otherwise be encountered in the workplace can also occur in a confined space. But, the critical thing to consider is that these hazards will be much more severe in an area where entry and exit are limited. Bin-whip

Pneumat invented the hydraulic BinWhip in 1987, the first system of its kind. Since then, we’ve continued to innovate and improve, culminating in a patented dual-whipset design that delivers unmatched power, safety, and ease-of-use.

Hydraulically-driven whipsets spinning in opposite directions deliver massively powerful shearing impacts to hung-up material. The counter-rotational forces generated by this unique design stabilize the whiphead – meaning the Dual Impact BinWhip won’t skip over hard ledges or careen wildly about while you clean. It stays right where you need it – allowing the operator to dislodge and discharge material in a controlled fashion, while also protecting the system from stress and damage.

 

Bindrill

Bin-drill

The BinDrill works with the Pneumat BinWhip to free material from bulk storage vessels. Operated from the top of the vessel, the BinDrill functions like a mobile oil- or well-drilling rig–sections are added as the boring is completed.

When the BinDrill has drilled a flow channel, the BinWhip is lowered through the opening to finish the job. Both pieces of equipment use the same hydraulic power unit and controls. With the addition of specially designed drill sections for each task, the BinDrill is also capable of sampling and fumigating a product.
